9 Nashville Coffee Shops Open During COVID-19

As businesses try to navigate the hardships due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Nashville, many local coffee lovers are searching for a caffeine fix while they work from home. A few Nashville coffee shops have shut down temporarily, while others take sanitation precautions and innovate their services to provide curbside pickup, takeout, and delivery options for locals to purchase a cup of Joe, food, or a bag of coffee beans. 

 

Eighth & Roast:

TWO LOCATIONS: 2108 8th Avenue South, 4104 Charlotte Avenue

OFFERING: TAKEOUT from 7am to 2pm (Mon-Fri) and 8am to 2pm (Sat-Sun) at both locations. 

Eighth & Roast closed their doors for a while during the pandemic but recently re-opened on May 2nd with a new system for takeout. Eighth & Roast is known for their high quality coffee beans and fresh coffees in the Nashville community. Their menu includes a variety of espresso options, drip coffee, teas, cold brew, and more. Eighth & Roast’s food options include breakfast burritos, biscuits, fresh pastries. You can even order coffee beans for delivery online!

Americano Lounge 

LOCATION: 434 Houston St #120 (Wedgewood-Houston)

OFFERING: TAKEOUT from 9am-6pm

Americano Lounge offers a variety of  to-go options including grocery items, espresso drinks, cocktails, wine and food, and more. They have some of the best whiskey cocktails and are known for their espresso martinis! My go-to coffee is their Iced Americano, either black or with oat milk.

The owner created a GoFundMe to help support their staff during this difficult time.

Humphreys Street Coffee 

LOCATION: 424 Humphreys Street (Wedgewood-Houston)

OFFERING: CURBSIDE PICKUP or AT-HOME DELIVERY via Postmates. 8 AM - 4 PM.

Their menu includes a variety of espresso drinks, coffees, teas and teas. You can also order bags of coffee, a variety of soap options, and merchandise online for delivery or pickup.

Ugly Mugs Coffee & Tea

Location: 1886 Eastland Ave, Nashville, TN 37206 (East Nashville)

OFFERING: PICKUP or DELIVERY. 7am-4pm

Ugly Mugs is an East Nashville coffee shop hangout that takes pride in building a connection with customers through the power of coffee. Their coffee is sourced from Drew’s Brews, a coffee roaster in East Nashville. They are partnered with local artisans from Sweet 16th, Dozen Bakery, and more. Ugly Mugs’s menu includes coffee, tea, and matcha lattes, as well as, a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options. They are selling bags of coffee and merchandise online and at the shop.

Red Bicycle

FOUR LOCATIONS: Woodbine, The Nations, Peabody in downtown Nashville, and then Germantown is currently closed due to the devastating tornado.

OFFERING: Curbside Pickup or Takeout, times vary per location

Red Bicycle is known for their sweet and savory crepes and sandwiches that pair well with their delicious coffee and espresso drinks. They also have their special Red Bicycle coffee available for purchase in bags. The Nations location is offering a duo of “Burger and Beer,” as well as, wings and hot chicken sandwiches from 4pm -8pm.

Osa Coffee

LOCATION: 1579 Edgehill Ave, Nashville, TN 37212 (Music Row)

OFFERING: PICKUP ORDERS from 8 AM - 3 PM.

Osa Coffe is a local roasting company, owned by coffee veterans Jack Egan and Lesa Wood. They specialize in light and medium roast coffee grounds. You can try their unique blends as drip coffee or in a bag to-go.

Retrograde Coffee

LOCATION: 1305 Dickerson Pike, Nashville TN 37207 (East Nashville)

OFFERING: TAKEOUT & DELIVERY 7 AM - 5 PM.

Retrograde is an East Nashville favorite. Their experienced staff crafts unique cocktails, beer, and specialty espresso drinks. Their newest specialty drink is a Strawberry Cold Brew Mojito. Grab a bagel sandwich or sweet treat while you sip this one-of-a-kind beverage. Retrograde lovers can go online to purchase gift cards, merchandise, or donate.

Frothy Monkey: 

OFFERING: PICKUP & DELIVERY at all locations

While they are known for their decorative and specialty lattes, their drink menu also includes beer, wine, and cocktails. Their menu offers a large variety of breakfast and lunch options, as well as a kids menu. Frothy locations are also offering groceries for purchase including milk, eggs, bread, and other essential items .

CREMA, Coffee Roasters

TWO LOCATIONS: 15 Hermitage Street Nashville (Downtown), 226 Duke Street (East)

OFFERING: CURBSIDE PICKUP beginning as early as 7 AM

CREMA Coffee was one of the first hot coffee shops in the modern Nashville scene. CREMA Coffee works with farmers all over the globe in order to provide coffee roasts with a wide range of notes. CREMA partnered with several of Nashville local businesses including Pinewood Social, Bastion, and Henrietta Red and Husk. Their menu includes specialty drinks, pastries, and chocolate bars. The online store includes merchandise and barista coffee essentials to make your own fresh cup or pour over at home.
